I’m the founder of Lark About Design Co. Me and my team build websites that feel personal, professional, and people-friendly without the stress! We also offer branding support, a website membership for DIYers trying to figure it out themselves, and solid guidance for small businesses and nonprofits at every stage of their journey, from dream to reality.

As a person who’s had a non-traditional, but super rewarding career journey (you can read all about it here!)I believe we all deserve to do the work that we find meaningful. That lights us up - and contributes something great to the world at the same time!

I have over a decade of experience in technology, marketing and design across a range of small business industries, and I bring a highly personalized approach to web design. I love helping folks create an online presence that connects with their dream clients, supports their mission, and makes them feel amazing about what they do.

Somewhere along the way, I became a certified yoga & children’s yoga teacher and I spent three years developing my own curriculum and teaching social-emotional learning (SEL) to kids around the world through nerdy virtual clubhouses. That passion for education (and deep understanding of freelance life!) still shows up in everything I do- especially in the way I teach, support, and guide my clients through the creative process.

As a small business owner with ADHD, I especially love working with neurodivergent and non-traditional business owners. When I’m not at my desk, I love spending time with my pets, paddleboarding/kayaking, hiking, sitting around a campfire, and making music with my band.

Whatever it is that you do, I want you to feel proud of a web presence that truly reflects who you are and what you care about. I can’t wait to meet you!

I’m a queer, neurodivergent web design apprentice with a copyeditor’s eye for detail and a deep love for clean, functional design.

After earning my Master’s in Library Science from the University of Alabama in 2010, I spent over a decade working in libraries and editing everything from books and planners to blogs and websites. In 2013, I started exploring web development through Girl Develop It in Philadelphia, building simple apps and learning to code. Now, I specialize in Squarespace design and QA testing—bringing thoughtful, user-focused websites to life with intention and care.

A few fun facts about me: I play the accordion and sing; I live in a tiny house in the mountains of Appalachia; I love reading sci-fi & comics, taking baths and climbing.

Googly | Design… Thing

The plant that started it all. A gorgeous philodendron with an updo who suddenly developed a case of… eyes.

Kind words from past clients…
